Happy National Bikini Day 👙👙👙

Today is one of our favorite days of the year... it’s National Bikini Day! Get excited AF because we are.  So for those of you babes who don’t know, the bikini has some major history. We’re about to school you...

The bikini became a thing on July 5, 1946 and the smarty who brought it to the scene was Louis Reard--a Parisian fashion designer. He brought up a Parisian showgirl (a.k.a a babe), Micheline Bernardini to show off at the Piscine Molitor, the most popular pool in Paris.

So where did he get this idea? Well he was out in St. Tropez living his best life and noticed the ladies on the beach adjust their one pieces to get a more even tan. His idea? Well since he had taken over his mother’s lingerie shoppe,  it made sense to transform the swimsuit into a two piece set with a bare midriff for a better tan. So clutch Louis!

Louis had some competition, but he know how to win. He made the bikini from four triangles of fabric and brought the string bikini to life. If it didn’t show the belly button, it wasn’t a bikini in Louis’s eyes. So basically he was into teeny bikinis. He stirred up controversy, but managed to sell some amazing ‘bikinis for 40 years. And well, he’s kind of a pioneer. So let’s celebrate him and some of our favorite styles for #NationalBikiniDay. Buy a new ‘kini and book it for the beach or the hottest pool and show off that BIKINI BODY (no matter what kinda body you got)!

The styles every bikini babe needs to have in her life as brought to you by some major babes 👙
